D. Charles Houder to Its Board of Directors
Wayne, PA / Casco, ME (June 25, 2025) - Camp Sunshine, an award-winning nonprofit in Casco, Maine serving children with life-threatening illnesses and their families, has appointed D. Charles “Charlie” Houder to its Board of Directors.

Houder, a seasoned real estate developer, is the founder and managing principal of Haverford Development Partners LLC, based in Wayne, Pennsylvania. Over his career, Charlie has been involved in real estate transactions across 14 states with a combined value exceeding $1 billion, including office, retail, hotel, multi-family, and mixed-use developments.

More than his professional accomplishments, Charlie brings a deeply personal commitment to family-centered care and advocacy. As the father of four children, including his late son Matthew, who was born with significant physical and developmental disabilities, Charlie has been a passionate supporter of children’s healthcare. His work includes leadership and advisory roles with organizations such as the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Elwyn, and The Talk School. Charlie and his wife, Megan have also established the Matthew Charles Houder Fund for Pediatric Orthopedic Research at the CHOP Orthopedic Center in Philadelphia (www.mattschopfund.com).

Camp Sunshine continues to expand its Board of Directors with compassionate and visionary leaders who share its commitment to serving families in their most challenging times. Also appointed to the Board of Directors at the nonprofit’s recent annual meeting was Tamara StClaire, PhD, MBA, who is currently serving as Chief Business Transformation Officer and President of Primary Care Delivery Services at MaineHealth.
