Tips for Hosting an Event for Camp Sunshine

Are you interested in hosting a special event for Camp Sunshine? Take a look at this comprehensive guide for planning a special event for some tips from Camp Sunshine's development team.

What is a Third-Party Special Event?
Third-party events are fundraisers coordinated and held by persons or organizations external to Camp Sunshine with the purpose of raising funds or awareness for the Camp Sunshine program. These events are often hosted by families, volunteers, individuals interested in giving back to their community, students fulfilling community service requirements, or organizations willing to give products or services.

Examples of third-party events include, but are not limited to: golf tournaments, polar dips, car washes, bake sales, Zumba-thons/Dance-a-thons, school dances, athletic/endurance events (like 5ks or marathons), bottle drives, fashion shows, raffles, auctions, benefit concerts, theater performances, and special occasion donations (just to name a few).

Although coordination of third-party events are the responsibility of the hosting organizations or individuals, Camp Sunshine is available to provide assistance or guidance when needed. For more in-depth information about hosting a special event on behalf of Camp Sunshine, or starting your own peer-to-peer fundraiser for Camp, please reference the Guide to Hosting a Third-Party Special Event PDF, or email events@campsunshine.org.
