Help support Camp Sunshine's efforts to provide military families with a child who has a life-threatening illness the opportunity to attend illness-specific camp sessions at no cost!In 2018, Camp Sunshine will introduce two new challenges for military team members. For the first time events will take place on both the East and West Coast. Each will require endurance, perseverance, strength and will follow one simple mantra ... failure is not an option! Their efforts will help support military families dealing with the challenges of having a child who has been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. West Coast Mission: On May 19th (National Armed Forces Day) a Marathon Paddle will challenge as many as 20 participants to either kayak or paddleboard 26.2 miles from Del Mar, CA into San Diego Bay! East Coast Mission: On Thursday, August 23rd, participants will take on all the Maine coast has to offer by attempting a 3-mile open ocean swim from Seguin Island to Popham Beach State Park, a 75-mile bike to Cape Elizabeth, and 10k run ending at the iconic Portland Headlight. The goal of these two ambitious, courageous and selfless missions is to raise a combined total of $80,000 for Camp Sunshine, and send military and special operations families to Camp Sunshine completely free of charge. No donation is too small to help us reach the overall goal. |
