Carve Your Own Event!

Camp Sunshine is fortunate to have had the support of several local communities, organizations, and individuals. They have joined us in celebration of the great gourd by hosting carving parties and even hosting pumpkin festivals of their own. Thanks to everyone for spreading the festival fun! If you would like to create an event in your area, please contact Michael Smith at mbsmith@campsunshine.org or (207) 655-3800. Here are some examples to get you started:

Weston High School: For the last two years, Hillary Sieber and her friends have rallied their fellow students and the town of Weston to come together as a community to promote awareness for Camp Sunshine and the Pumpkin Festival. Donations are collected, pumpkins carved, and great entertainment and games for the entire family round out this spooktacular event!
Davidian Brothers Farm: For four years, our friends at Davidian Brothers in Northboro, Massachusetts have hosted carving parties prior to the Pumpkin Festival. The pumpkins from the event are then trucked into the festival.
Kittery Trading Post: There from the beginning, the great folks at Kittery Trading Post have hosted carving parties and sold paper pumpkins. Their loyal patrons have had a huge impact on both Camp Sunshine and the Pumpkin Festival.
R.H. Reny: Renys and their generous customers have celebrated the Guinness World Record attempt for several years. In 2007, Renys employees and sales associates sold over $26,000 worth of paper pumpkins to support Camp Sunshine!
DCH Auto Group: Way to carve everyone! Carving parties were held at two DCH dealerships in Northern New Jersey where employees and their families amassed 1,000 pumpkins for the first annual New York Pumpkin Festival.
University of Southern Maine: From the first Pumpkin Festival in Portland, Maine, to helping break the Guinness World Record in Boston, University of Southern Maine students have continued to meet the challenge for Camp Sunshine.
