Camp Sunshine Programs Outside of Maine
Having recognized that the entire family is affected when a child is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, Camp Sunshine at Sebago Lake, Inc. was the first program of its kind to offer retreats focusing on the entire family. Camp Sunshine is working diligently to expand its program in Maine to serve more children and families in need. While having made great strides in expansion, even at full, year-round occupancy, the Maine campus will not be able to serve the countless families affected by life-threatening illness throughout the nation.As the acknowledged leader in the field, Camp Sunshine has developed satellite programming in an effort to provide support and respite to as many affected families as possible. In 2005, we introduced the first Camp Sunshine family program outside of Maine, hosted by the Three Bears Resort in Warrens, Wisconsin. Since then, we have expanded our programming in Wisconsin, offering sessions annually, as well as adding a new program at the Rincon County West RV Resort in Tucson, Arizona in 2007. Camp Sunshine is also working with a group in West Virginia to serve families in the mid-Atlantic states.
