I attended Camp Sunshine for the first time this year. Despite all the wonderful things I had heard over the years, nothing prepared me for my experience at camp. The families are some of the warmest, most open and optimistic people I have ever met. Their children are fun-loving, sweet and hysterically funny. I am still overwhelmed by the impact Camp Sunshine has on everyone it touches. A retreat for families affected by life-threatening illnesses in quiet Maine, camp gives parents one week to network with others who have faced the same issues, and kids time to unwind and just be kids. One girl told me it is better than Disney World! One week of camp costs $1500 and most of our families cannot afford it after medical bills. Sponsorship can relieve this stress and offer them this exceptional experience all at once. Please help send more of these unbelievable families to this special place and please spread the word to others!
